TV does come in handy for weather and storm reports. The Doppler radar from
TV stations helps, like on lake Ontario in upstate ny.. Many times you are hours ahead, instead of waiting for coast guard reports on the VHF radio..... At Oswego NY, Wrights landing, one can get two to three stations American, and several Canadian channels.
