![]() I have two "ready to go" backpacks, one for boating and one for walking/cycling. Both were purchased for $1 or less at rummage sales. The "ready to go" backpack make it easier to get away for an hour or two in the afternoon. The boating backpack has the regulation safety stuff in it, sunglasses, and some foam board so it will float. I just have to add food and water and if I'm sailing, a small sail for whichever boat I'm going to take, and sometimes the camera for which there is a watertight container made from a leftover dish and a bicycle innertube. I normally don't wear sunglasses but when sailing one is always looking up to check the performance of the sail. Sunglasses help on bright sunny days. The walking/cycling backpack dosn't have anything in it so I have to grab food, water, binoculars, and maybe camera. Most of the cyling stuff like the tire pump and lights stay in saddle bags on the bike. I've only ever had one problem. That was absent-mindedly grabbing the wrong backpack but I caught the mistake in time. I have a checklist for things to take boating and look at it every time. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ William R Watt National Capital FreeNet Ottawa's free community network homepage: www.ncf.ca/~ag384/top.htm warning: non-FreeNet email must have "notspam" in subject or it's returned |
