Isn't it great...

Isn't it great that a bought-and-paid-for privatization puppet like
Texas Governor Greg Abbot demands that socialism once again bail out
capitalism?

Abbot says lawmakers must require the state's private power supply
companies to weatherize the state's power plants - and taxpayers and
households must pay for the weatherization.

The power companies should pay for the upgrades and their shareholders
should foot the bill. They deliberately avoided doing what was
necessary...why should households in Texas be forced to pay the bill for
the fix?

Consumers always end up footing the bill whether it is in the price of
product or in taxes. If you think so much money is to be made in
utility company stock, buy some.

Because the state controls pricing, and most don’t allow enough profit to
upgrade. And why not the consumer paying? What every other business
requires. If not, they experience bankruptcy court.

Buy some with what? Not even the lender of last resort will lend
him a dime with his track record.

The political/corporate controllers of the Texas power grid withdrew
from the national/multi-state grids and did not bother to plan for
disasters, all so they could keep their rates low. Now they want
socialism to pay the tab.

The situation in Texas isn't the usual, in terms of how the power supply
is managed.

It is the Texans he is asking to pay. Why do you care? They are not on
the national grid and now they may have to pay a little higher bills
to harden their infrastructure, So what? I pay a few bucks extra on my
bill every month as a storm tax. It is just the cost of doing
business.
This is a 100 year event so they may not be willing to pay too much.
It sort of reminds me of "almost a storm" Sandy. Those folks went back
to business as normal right away assuming they had their 100 year
storm. They won't be alive for the next one.

What is your definition of socialism dummy.

By the way, the paying consumer ALWAYS pays the tab. For non
paying consumers like Fat Harry, don't worry we will pay the tab
for you, as usual.
