BTW... just turned 65000 kilometers on the clock. Don't listen to "they'. They're the ones who caused you to make
poor purchasing decisions.
Turning corners is hard on tires. I suspect your city driving is
going to wear out any set of tires quickly. the best you can do
is keep your tires inflated and check your front and rear end
allignment.

symptom. CarFax was useless.

on this in 19 years, a clutch master cylinder, a knock sensor, the oil
filter base was leaking and I bought the dealer $1000 belt job. It
still says ~101k on the odometer tho. It said 69k when I bought it in
2002. I did go for a Maaco paint job 10 years ago but it is ugly now.

have AAA haul it away and drop me at a car rental place. I paid $14k

Going to school in Tampa I had an old VW bug that I'd paid $50 from another guy
getting reassigned. Drove it nearly two years back and forth to school. Took the
causeway to Clearwater for dinner one night and threw a rod. Lot's of smelly
smoke and screams from the lady in back seat. Called a wrecker. He picked up the
car, gave us a ride to the restaurant, and kept the car as payment. Worked
pretty well.

Yeah, if my fading memory serves, the damned battery was under a seat
and maybe there were two of them. Impossible to get to... Pretty car,
though. And it ran pretty good until it caught on fire. I "upgraded" to
a Volvo PV544. Solid car, really good.

My 2003 Toyota 4Runner had 200,000+ miles on it when in 2016 I gave it
to my brother in law. Brake caliper inserts, tires, and two batteries,
plus regular oil and filter changers were it. I kind of recall one set
of spark plugs were replaced, but that may be a false memory.

Remove the numbers and walk away. Leaving the rest of us to pay for the
disposal at an extra cost as they have to be recovered first.

When my wife's old Honda died several years ago at a hotel in Miami,
we looked online for used car buyers who would pick up. We found one
who paid us $200 cash and hauled the car away. It more than paid for
our one way rental to get home. The car was 17 y/o and had about
170,000 miles on it when the transmission gave out. It was slipping
like crazy but we made it the last couple of miles to the hotel where
we were staying.

There was a problem with Honda transmissions circa 2000 or so that you
could fix by disconnecting the battery for a few seconds and
reconnecting it. You usually got a month or so out of that. There was
something that screwed up in the controller.
