If you love democracy...

....and what our country has always stood for, then you have to be
appalled by Trump's behavior. I'm not Stephen Colbert's biggest fan
but he sums things up very succinctly in this video. It's worth
watching for a few minutes:

Does that mean you are not appalled by Trump's behavior, ot that you
don't care for Stephen Colbert? If the latter, I can understand that.
If the former, not so much.

You and I both served in the US military at one time. Part of that
service included taking an oath to defend the constitution. How is
supporting a president that spreads lies and slander about the
democratic voting process supporting the constitution? Even Fox news
and his fellow republicans are starting to back away from Trump's more
outrageous claims. Allowing the democratic process to crumble is how
fascist governments gain a foot hold. Look no further than Germany in
the 1930s to see an example of that.

I can relate to that and have frequently had the same reaction. The
video link that I posted, at least the beginning few minutes, are some
of his finest moments however.

I didn't see that when it was broadcast, but my wife did, and she said
she has on occasion hospitalized patients as delusional as Trump sounded
in that "news" conference.

Trumps behavior was bad. But as a President he did a decent job. Better
than the last 4. Clinton’s behavior was much worse. Oh, he spoke better
and maybe not out if turn, but he had a very forgiving press. He kept the
war in Iraq going, got us in another war we had little concerns in in the
Balkans. He screwed up the housing market, which is still hurting us, and
****ed up the banking system, that we may not recover from for a hundred
years if at all. Plus his personal Relations in the White House.
Crap, that would get just about any corporate CEO canned.

Much of what you say about Clinton has merit buy I never regarded him
as a threat to democracy. Trump on the other hand, clearly is. He
has to go and the sooner the better.
