I do stay away from people, at least 6 feet.

I can't imagine how that could work in most retail establishments.

Maybe it is just here but they have moved out all of that clutter that
used to be in the aisles in Ace and Publix (the 2 places where I go
the most). It is not hard to keep your distance. ABC (liquor chain),
the pool store and CVS are not that busy. Most of the time you have
the whole aisle to yourself. Everyone has tape on the floor at the
checkout to space people out.

Sounds about like my old 12' Jon boat. I had a 7.5 on it and an

I was like Wayne tho, exploring every little hole in the mangroves in
the Estero bay. It is a great way to get some local knowledge and if
you do get stuck, you can drag the boat back into deeper water pretty
easy.
I had an old office chair mounted as low in the boat as I could get it
and it was a pretty good ride.

stop incoming aerosols is so great at stopping out going aerosols.


It still does not address the reality I see. Those sanctimonious
people I see are touching their mask all the time and about half pull
it down to talk. Some wear it below their nose so they can breathe
without fogging up their glasses and the store employees are the
worst. God only know when the last time they changed or washed that
nasty rag.

I am just not convinced it is more than a hollow gesture.

The few times I do wear a mask, I really try to do it right. I put a
brand new one on, handling it by the straps, I don't touch it and when
I leave (Costco) I take it off by the straps and drop it in the trash.
I did ask the door dweeb where the biohazard disposal container was
but he didn't understand the concept.

Then I avoid touching anything until I get to my car and my hand
sanitizer. I don't even get in the car until I scrub my hands and
face..

I am going another way. My thought is the best way not to spread the
virus is not to get it in the first place.
What is wrong with that?

How do you know you don't already have it? Don't be touching someone else's

Not if I don't have to and I hold my breath if I do. Since they
cleared out all of the aisle displays and made them one way, passing
is not that common anyway. When you do, there is plenty of room to
stay away from them. People in my little circle of stores do a pretty
good job of staying away from each other but mask use also cruises
around 50% so maybe we have to.

BTW both the CDC and WHO have said "casual contact" like walking by
someone in a store is way down on their suspicions of how this is
transmitted.
Sitting on a bar stool spitting in each other's beer or standing close
and hollering in their face to be heard over the band is the top of
the list and we are seeing that in our most recent spike in
millennials.

The herd mentality seems to be central in the spread of this pandemic. MANY
businesses like gyms, theaters, restaurants, bars and theme parks are at
risk of becoming extinct unless they have deep pockets. I also believe
there is a renewed interest in abandoning large cities. Especially since
they seem to be run largely by morons.

At my age, this is not supposed to be asymptomatic.

Everyone touches the peaches. That is why I scrub the hell out of them
and all loose produce. Even if it isn't local touch contamination, you
still have the good old E-Coli and Salmonella type infections.

There is still scant evidence that these incidental contacts spread
the virus. It seems to bloom when people are jammed together for
extended periods of time. This is a bad time to own a movie theater
or a sports stadium. As long as people are afraid to go, restaurants
are not even that bad. I was at Texas Road House and Carrabbas. Both
were wiping down surfaces constantly, the people are scattered around,
pretty far apart and it is the same food they are pushing out the door
if you carry out. I still was a bit uncomfortable and going wasn't my
idea.
