Harry. it looks like you're state is worse off....

A lot worse off, about 5 times the population in Florida.

Duh. The numbers, impact, and progress of the ailment on and through a
population are moving targets, as it were, and there are many factors
that bear weight on them. I think you claimed you were some sort of
science student. Apparently you skipped a lot of classes.

You claimed to be some sort of writing student. Joe Biden school of
education? As to the science of infection. Pretty damn simple. Your
state has 1/5 the population of Florida, but about 1/2 the number of cases.
That makes like Maryland is 2.5 times worse off per capita.

You are discounting all sorts of factors in your simple-minded response.
No sense in listing those differing factors here, because this is a
Trumpian newsgroup of right-wing nincompoops. Suffice it to say the
rates of infection in wildly differing states will be...wildly
different, and at different times.

Well we haven't mentioned the obvious demographic disadvantage they
have in Bulletmore and the DC suburbs but other than that I am not
sure what we are missing.

BTW now you talk about wildly different states but a few minutes ago
you were complaining that your "one size fits all" mentality should
apply to Desantis' decision about a wildly different place in Florida
than anywhere you have ever been.

Since when has there been any consistency in Fat Harry's bull****. It's all
runny.

And once again, you step into it. My comments on Florida were aimed at
your moronic governor's failure, early on, to close the beaches and
promote social distancing. I have no idea what Florida is doing the
pandemic lately.

And once again, once again, until testing is a lot more widespread, we
have no idea what the actual infection rate is across a large
population. We can say that "for those tested, the rate of infection was
x%." Of course, many of those tested present with symptoms, real or not,
so I'm not sure that is much of a valid test beyond what it tells us
about those who have or think they have symptoms.

South Dakota had virtually no infections until it turned out they have a
lot, especially in Minnehaha (a guess at the spelling) County, where
that packing plant is. But the state has a growing number of cases in
other counties, too. What does it mean? Among other things, without
widespread testing, you don't know much of anything.

The *reported* infection rate is clearly starting to slow down. It
would be astounding if it wasn't given all of the protective measures
that have been taken. Considering your personal vulnerability to this
disease you should be happy about that.

The problem with that argument is the beaches are not where the
infections were. There were a few places where people were jammed
together, mostly in Dade and Broward and that was not really beach
related. There were a few "festivals" that should have been canceled
in the South East but that was a local decision by democrat mayors.

And once again, once again, until testing is a lot more widespread, we

Almost all of the infections were traced to that plant full of Somali
and Latino workers. The rest of the state was virtually unaffected.

If testing is so important, why isn't your dark blue but highly
infected state doing more of it?
If it is so easy for the federal government to come up with a billion
tests overnight, why can't the State of Maryland come up with a few
million on their own?

As Doc Fauci pointed out "testing" isn't the answer. It's important,
but like he said you can test negative today and become infected
tomorrow.

The left's demands that *everyone* in the USA be tested is not only
ridiculous, it's damn near impossible and even if it could be done
it's meaningless unless it's done daily.

I think the left is just making this an issue for political
reasons, not as a serious covid-19 plan.

Biden probably thinks a test is taking an exam on viruses.

The *reported* infection rate is clearly starting to slow down. It
would be astounding if it wasn't given all of the protective measures
that have been taken. Considering your personal vulnerability to this
disease you should be happy about that.

I've been tracking and charting confirmed cases in Plymouth County with
a population of about 500,000. A few days ago I was encouraged because
the slope seemed to be flattening. But in the last few days the slope
has returned to it's previous upward direction. I think Massachusetts
is probably behind neighboring NY and NJ by a week or two.
