Picked up the casings from the guy at the next shooting station, who said they weren't worth reloading again. Took a bunch to a friend's house and tried out his press. Snazzy, eh? :) Good enough for snap caps with rubber primers. |

Did you pull the bullets, dump the powder, deprime them and replace the primer with some kind of HDPE or something? You probably should have drilled a hole or 2 in the case so you knew they were dummies. |

And harry doesn't know which end of a press is the correct one, so his buddy didn't give him the run of his reloading shop. Someone handed him the shells with the bullets pressed in and crimped and some rubber primer plugs, and told him to superglue them into the primer pockets. At best. He doesn't have a clue how to setup a die in a press. Too funny. |

I'm not and never have been an advocate of "steel" ammo. I did note that a couple of rifles as demonstrated on videos seemed to shoot it well, and that it was "cheap" to buy. I don't shoot it in any of the firearms I own. I guess you have to be a fifth grader and write at that level to be understood by Trumpsters. |

Yeah my compass deviates when he walks around with them all the way down here ;) So much for all of those rants about steel ammo. I presume the guy I got the casings from at the range had reloaded them with encased lead bullets, unless it is common practice to reload brass casings with ferrous bullets. The bullets I snagged at my buddy's reloading bench were non-ferrous. But, of course, you jumped to another set of erroneous conclusions. I did note that some relatively cheap "steel" ammo shot well out of a particular rifle. The steel ammo uses lead filled jackets. It is the jacket that is steel, actually what they call bi-metal but it still sticks to a magnet. I am not even sure you can buy steel bullets in the US unless they are coming from the 3d world. For your purposes none of that matters tho. Good job. |

Strange for such a renowned firearms expert such as yourself. Pretty simple stuff until you start putting powder in there. You think some "buddy" let him setup and use his press to push out the spent primer, neck size the case, then press and crimp the bullet in, all without ever seeing it done before? Ha, Ha. Ha!!!! Old weird harold wouldn't have a clue how to setup the dies! His "buddy" gave him the shells with the bullets crimped in, and let him glue the rubber primers in himself. May have let him watch, but from across the room at at least 6 feet. |
