Last I saw, the average cost for COBRA family coverage was about $15,000 a year. That's a big hit for a laid-off worker with limited income. We might have 25% of the workforce laid off temporarily and a huge percentage laid off permanently. There is going to be really strong pressure for a decent universal coverage health insurance program. |
