Was it only a month ago?

It was exactly one month ago yesterday, February 26, that Donald Trump
proclaimed the number of coronavirus cases in the U.S. would soon drop
from 15 to almost none. Today, the U.S. beat China (and Italy, and every
other country) for number of coronavirus cases.

Back in February, taking the opportunity to pat himself on the back,
Trump told reporters that “when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a
couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that’s a pretty
good job we’ve done.”

The number of cases did not drop, in fact, they rose. Exponentially.

Perhaps ironically, the United States today reached that new, horrific
milestone, exactly one month after President Trump’s prognostication of
“close to zero” cases “within a couple of days.”

The stunning news just broke.

“There were 82,404 confirmed cases throughout the country, which is 622
more than China, where the outbreak began,” ABC News reports. “The total
number of deaths from the virus in the country was 1,178.”

China is a nation of more than 1.4 billion people. The U.S. has just
under 330 million.

Yup. It was just about a month ago that Gov. Cuomo of NY and
Mayor Bill de Blasio of NYC were encouraging New Yorkers not
to panic, go out to the theaters and restaurants, go to work
and enjoy what New York has to offer.

Today, New York represents almost half of the total confirmed
covid-19 cases in the United States which has more confirmed
cases than the rest of the world.

Well played.

Amazing how quickly you can make excuses for members of your party.
Cuomo has had many years of experience (three terms in office as Gov.
plus years in government going back to 1993 first as Assistant Secretary
and then Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. He's well versed
in epidemic and pandemic threats to the USA.

I make no excuses for de Blasio though. He's just an idiot.

You appear to be a glutton for punishment.

Not really. Just bored. Wife and I are following "isolation"
protocol.

Went for a motorcycle ride with a friend today. Kept two meters apart the whole
time too!

Today it got up into the low-60's here. Soon, I'll get the scooter out
of the shed and see if it starts. I've had a battery tender on it all
winter and drained the gas last fall.

Should work well.

Yup.* It was just about a month ago that Gov. Cuomo of NY and

Everyone paid attention to and believed Bush and Cheney were telling the
truth about WMDs, too. Trump's ignorance a month ago is what is making
us pay the price.

You democrats seem to be a gullible bunch don't you?
