are scaling up their ability to *do* the tests ... not to
manufacture test kits.

I think Quest will just be processing the test kits as they arrive from
the locations the swab samples were taken. They don't actually test
walk-ins for the virus.

I go to a local Quest Diagnostics place for blood work before any
appointments I have with my VA primary care NP. The VA contracts
all the bloodwork through Quest. They turn the results around in a
day and forward them to my VA primary care person.

Great place. Nurses are super friendly and competent.
They like vets for some reason.

I usually get there around 11 and I am still in and out in 15 minutes
most of the time, without an appointment. The thing I like is they are
usually painless with the stabbing. I do have "good veins" tho. I have
had lots of experience with this. When I was a kid I was in a heart
study at Georgetown for several years and I had blood pulled 9-10
times a year. That was old school too. The vacuum cylinders came right
near the end. I always watch. I can tell right away how this is going
to go. Last time I never felt a thing.

My problem is they seem to have a problem sending results to my healthcare
group. But PAMF, my group, has their own labs and they are as good as
Quest drawing blood.

Strange. Here it is almost instantaneously.
Sometimes my PA has my results the next morning, online. There are
really only 2 labs here (Quest and Labcorp) and they are both
connected to the 2 big medical conglomerates (Lee Memorial and Naples
Hospital). Between them they have almost every doctor in town and most
have cross privileges. It does make it easy for insurance tho. They
are either "in" or they don't want to do business here.
Aetna is trying to scratch out a living with a few doctors available
to them but UHC is plugged in everywhere. No hard decision necessary
there. BCBS is somewhere in the middle I think.

I think they usually just run a good shop. I go there for my tests too
and evidently medicare pays well for tests because everyone wants them
done. I agree the people know how to pull blood.

I believe the info regarding the cruise ship. Most anything else coming
from the Trump admin is questionable.
