Of the 40 something tested, 19 crew members and 2 passengers tested positive. One test on another passenger was determined to be inconclusive. So, now they are going to allow the Grand Princess to dock at a non-commercial port this weekend and *everyone* on the ship will be tested before they are allowed to depart. In addition, contrary to reports by the likes of Chuck Todd on MSNBC, the government has established as a priority the manufacture of more and more test kits and currently have enough to supply every state the kits they need. In addition, the task force has partnered with two additional commercial test companies .... one is Quest ... and both will begin supplying more test kits as soon as Monday. Sounds like they are slowly getting a handle on a difficult problem. Drives me nuts when some media outlets like MSNBC release false information, intended to politically inflame and scare people. I would assume the ship will be anchored mid bay. Down towards the old Hunters Point Shipyard. I do not know of any berths, non commercial that will handle the ship. I doubt if you want to berth it next to the cruise terminal. There are always ships anchored in that area waiting for unloading, or loading. ,used to me the explosives Anchorage, Shows it on the charts. They may ferry them in on the small boats as they get cleared. I forgot the ship channel. They can berth at Stockton or Sacramento. |

They like vets for some reason. === That's been my experience also. Check-ins are computerized, quick and efficient. Also, appointment times actually mean something. Last time I went (back in October) I wanted to get the blood drawn early in the morning because I had other things to do that day. Quest opens a 6 am. I arrived five minutes early but they let me in anyway. Drew 5 or 6 vials of blood and I was in my truck heading home by 6:02 am. My problem is they seem to have a problem sending results to my healthcare group. But PAMF, my group, has their own labs and they are as good as Quest drawing blood. |

Here it is almost instantaneously. Sometimes my PA has my results the next morning, online. There are really only 2 labs here (Quest and Labcorp) and they are both connected to the 2 big medical conglomerates (Lee Memorial and Naples Hospital). Between them they have almost every doctor in town and most have cross privileges. It does make it easy for insurance tho. They are either "in" or they don't want to do business here. Aetna is trying to scratch out a living with a few doctors available to them but UHC is plugged in everywhere. No hard decision necessary there. BCBS is somewhere in the middle I think. |
