Censure Pelosi

Censure is defined as a formal, and public, group condemnation of an
individual, often a group member, whose actions run counter to the
group's acceptable standards for individual behavior.

In the United States, governmental censure is done when a body's members
wish to publicly reprimand the President of the United States, a member
of Congress, a judge or a cabinet member. It is a formal statement of
disapproval.

Nancy Pelosi certainly qualifies to be formally censured for
tearing up her copy of the SOTU address on national television,
especially in a formal, joint session of Congress.

She's done crap she should be jailed for. I don't think anyone
with at least half a brain pays any attention to her, hilry,
shummmmer, shtifty, or that other sourpuss from NY. God bless

I have to admit though that Trump was going for the jugular in a
well planned but barely "disguised" fashion.

Pelosi provided the first snub by ignoring the traditional
introduction of the POTUS to a joint session of Congress.

Trump may or may not have ignored her handshake offer, but
I wouldn't blame him if he did. He didn't offer to
shake the VP's hand either. But it made Pelosi look
foolish as she stood there with her hand out.

But the best part was when Trump singled out New York and
California as sanctuary states (Schumer, Pelosi and Schiff)
and their refusal to detain criminal illegals for ICE.
As he described some of the resultant murders of US
citizens, you could see the deer in the headlights look
on Pelosi's face.

Trump wasn't pulling any punches.

What a laugh. You accept every bit of horrific behavior from Trump but
act horrified when he get a bit of it back. I'm disappointed Pelosi
didn't introduce him as President Donald Feces Tosser Trump, and then
lead all the Dems out of the chamber.

I've now read Trump's SOTU. Love the b.s. he spewed that you believe,
especially the part about how his is protecting people against losing
health care coverage for pre-existing conditions, which is, of course,
nonsense. Trump supports a total repeal of the ACA, including its
provision that patients can’t be denied coverage for preexisting
conditions. Trump has not presented a plan to cover the gaps in case the
court challenge is successful, and he has pushed for short-term plans
that are not required to cover pre-existing conditions.

It certainly makes it clear these are not the adults in the room.
The Democrat majority will never vote for censure tho.

People in dark blue districts support Pelosi's temper tantrum but it
probably makes those people in districts that Trump won in 16, rethink
their democrat representative.

The Dems don't have the majority in the Senate. Doubt they will revisit
that possibility in the House. Like to see more charges there and more
investigations.

Actually, I did.

He didn't shake VP Pence's hand either. But you wouldn't know that
because you didn't watch it, right?

There's a question as to whether Trump knew of Pelosi's gesture to
shake hands. Some say he didn't see it because he delivered her
copy of his speech and immediately turned away.

I suspect he probably *did* know but chose to ignore it.
Pelosi made the first snub of the evening when she
chose to ignore the traditional, respectful introduction of a POTUS
to a joint session of Congress and instead, just introduced
him as "the President".

Trump isn't a meek, scared politician. He was out for blood
but did so in a well orchestrated, creative way.

I also don't believe Trump himself designs the execution of
his "attacks". I believe his staff and speechwriters have
a lot to do with it.

Sidebar:

I was thinking about when the Democrat party last had leaders
who were politically influential without resorting to years
of personal attacks of a sitting POTUS. With the rules
the Democrats use today, even FDR would be subject to
impeachment for hiding his polio affliction and conducting
a cover-up of it from the population.

Germs you know ;-)

You really can't have a successful impeachment without a super
majority in the Senate. A Johnson was close but they had excluded
almost all of the former confederate states from the process.
(Tennessee was the exception because they were seen as being
successfully reconstructed).
Romney was the first person to actually cross party lines in an
impeachment. It is yet to be seen if he pays a political price. but
2024 is a long ways away.
