pidgeon Point lighthose
Went down to the lighthouse for the 150th anniversary. Can not go up in the tower, first base tours in years. The cast iron works were not taken care of and painted after automation in 1970. So the place is under restoration. The original light burned lard oil. Then converted to kerosene. Foggy, very foggy and the ocean was rough. Glad was nicer for the crab opener two weeks ago and the vets crabbing last weekend. |
