Just got in from walking the dog. Temp is minus 14 C with a strong northerly wind.
Hard to walk into it..especially into the strong gusts. Weatherman says we should get relief around the end of March.

Oldest son is flying to Europe from Toronto tomorrow with an hour and a half stop in Iceland.
Toronto is expecting 15 cm of snow tomorrow and Iceland is expecting strong winds. Hope he's able to get there without major delays.

The airport in Iceland is a wonderful place to spend an hour or two. He'll enjoy it.

Sure they do. You just have to know how to convert in your head or use a
converter app or chart. Ask your buddy, Luddite. I'm sure he can do it.

For gov't work I simply double the Celsius temperature and subtract 30.

Example...It was minus 17 when the wife took our Springer Spaniel out at 0645 hrs.
So...-17 x 2 = -34 less 30 equals minus 4 F

Wayne's calculator says 1.4F

The more extreme the temperature, the less accurate the 'off the cuff system is.

You see how your system confuses Americans. BTW, I can relate to
military time but you left out your time zone.

1145 zulu happy now?

No surprise to me that JustanAsshole can't convert metric to "'Merican."

She is a silly lass!
When they brought in metric here almost 50 years ago, our govt didn't want us converting back to the old Imperial or F. system.

His buddy Luddite used to claim JustanAss was smart. JustanAss blew
through that too many times, I suppose, even for Luddite.

If he wants to talk to Americans, let him do the translatin.

===

Except for the few Americans who wanted to continue living in the dark
ages, we'd be totally on the metric system now like the rest of the
civilized world. It will happen eventually anyway but it's taking a
lot longer than it should have. Some of the arguments presented
against converting were right out of the lunatic fringe.

When teaching and the kids complained about fractions, I'd ask them to tell their parents to urge
Congress to go completely metric. Why we haven't is beyond me. It is so much simpler.
