Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is at it again. It's gonna be fun watching her continue her education as a Congresswoman in WashDC. She's now demanding a "living wage" for interns who work in Congress. Wants a minimum of $15 per hour. Not sure where she gets these ideas. An "intern" is traditionally a minimally paid but mostly unpaid person who serves as part of their continuing education. Their internship is not a career. It's up to each individual member of Congress to decide what they want to pay staffers (or not pay them at all). Funny thing is that about twice as many Republican House members compensate their interns and staffers than do Democrat House members. |
