Sighting in...

Spent a couple of hours this morning at the Maryland Small Arms Range,
sighting in my new .308 rifle, "assault rifle" as Gregster would call
it, with a new 1x8x24 scope.

The range has a 50-yard indoor range, which was good enough for what I
wanted to do. Put in cushy earplugs AND earmuff protectors...these
indoor ranges are REALLY loud and so is my .308.

Anyway, at 25 yards I was shooting two inches to the right and an inch
and a half down, so the initial sighting in I did at home was pretty
close. Made a couple of small adjustments and moved on out to 50 yards.
Right on the money. Using a one piece scope mount on a flat top rifle
makes sighting in pretty simple. The rounds shoot damned flat out to
more than 100 rounds, so after a five round test, I decided it was good
enough until I can get out to a 100 yard plus range.

Very crowded even though I got there when the range first opened. Lots
of very young and very attractive black young ladies shooting their own
rifles and handguns and rental handguns, too. Told a few of them how
pretty they were, of course. They smiled and so did their boyfriends. :)
Always pays to be nice to the ladies at the firing range.

Don't be too nice. Now-a-days you may be accused of sexual harassment.

Oh, I was very respectful. After all, everyone was heavily armed. I've
been telling pretty women they're pretty for a long, long time. I don't
recall any objecting or thinking I was "out of line." It's not like I
was channeling Donald Trump and trying to grab their pussies...

The term is "objectifying women"

A true feminist would ask you if you also compliment men on their
looks in the same way.
There was an article in USA today this week explaining the dozen or so
things you are not supposed to do these days and that was one of them.
I think it is pretty silly but I don't make the rules, I just try to
keep up.

They just laughed at the weird, old guy once you were out of hearing range.

BTW, how did you know they were shooting rental guns and were with boyfriends? Why not their own and with husbands? I... Smell... BS. :)

I'm not aware that Senator Feinstein has "ruled" that telling a woman
she is pretty is verboten. I wasn't engaged in Trump behavior or catcalling.

The world has gone nuts. Used to be saying, "You like nice" was taken
as a compliment by women. Now it's considered "suggestive".
Better to just keep your mouth shut and wear dark sunglasses now-a-days.
