Agreed. My converter converts 120vac to 12vdc.

It sounds like he has a lot of 12 volt "stuff", probably so he can
operate with out being plugged in - but then you need to keep the
battery charged up.

Yup, as mentioned to Justan above. Having two batteries in the truck can be a help as I found out on
our last trip.
