Storm relief.

I got a call from one of the local churches who is heading up teams of relief workers to head for the Carolinas for a couple weeks. Their partnership already has two semi loads of food, blankets and bottled water. If called out I may go for a week and see how it goes. Maybe two weeks later in this winter.

We’re watching.

Good on you Tim. Hopefully it won't be needed but it looks kind of
scary at the moment. I'm really glad we're not yet that far south
with the boat.

For a while it looked like my son and his family in Mt. Pleasant SC
would miss the damaging winds and flooding but recent forecasts include
the potential that the storm may bang into the coast, then turn left and
follow a path right along the shore southward towards SC.

My daughter in law called a while ago and said they packed up the car
with kids and dog and are heading for Universal Studios in Florida.

That is a scary turn to the south right at landfall in the current
model. It looks a bit like Harvey. Flooding might end up being more of
an inshore event than down at the beach. They are saying if it camps
out right there at the coast as a Cat1 or strong TS, 20" of rain is
likely in some places. It is unlikely they can get rid of that much
water.

Are you headed back now? Hope all is smooth for you. Btw, some friends just got back from a week in Cuba. Some good some bad but the whole stay was approx. $150.00 a piece...
