When those demonstration teams were putting on a show at Andrews, they would come over the house at about 100 feet in a tight turn and you could see the rivets on the plane. That lasted until someone crashed and took out a bunch of houses. |

Way too close together. I thought the camera might be making the planes seem closer than in reality until the pilot mentioned 18" and sometimes 6".

I can't imagine maintaining that distance from another plane's wingtip while doing an inverted roll at over 300 mph. I have a tough enough time keeping a Cessna 172 going straight down the runway during takeoff. |

I got a kick out of the guy sitting behind the pilot. I turned the camera around backwards to watch him during the maneuvers in one of the times I watched it. He just sits there with his cell phone taking pictures as if he's out for a Sunday drive in the country. |

I’ve never seen the Blue Angles, but have seen the USAF Thunderbirds a couple times. Fantastic precision air works!

Well, Well!
Looks like all y'all southern boys use the same joke writer as the regular guy for your humour. Our Snowbirds are well respected in their displays and entertain without being careless. Plus their little Tudor planes look better painted with Canada's colours. |

Do you maintain directional control on the runway with foot pedals and the rudder? Yes, at least on the small planes. I have never flown anything other than high wing Cessna's and low wing Piper Warriors. |

The origin of the word is French. Crikey, you don't even know how to spell "Canuck," do you? I suppose when you went into the naveee after high school, they'd take anyone, no matter how stupid. Snowbirds do a good show, but the Blue Angels are better. Use to take the boat out and anchor by Alcatraz to watch the show. Too many idiot boaters and alcohol. So now we drive to Treasure Island and take a nice picnic and the bikes and watch the show. The helicopters are a little hard to see as they stay closer to the city and Fisherman’s Wharf. The planes actually use TI/Yerba buena Island as a reference point. They come over us a maybe 200’. |
