How many people (if any) who have a Facebook account
have received a notification that your data may have
been compromised by Cambridge Analytica?

I haven't. I guess my data is of no interest to anyone. :-)

Current estimates are that 87 million users of Facebook have
had their data compromised.

I did download Deuce and Ed's data. That was a big nothing. They won't
tell you what they have deduced from analysis of the data and from
what you have posted. It is apparent they are sniffing cookies on your
machine and sharing that with Amazon for targeted ads. Deuce is
getting ads for things my wife ordered on her phone.

I didn’t get that one but I did get a notification that someone I knew who
played a game on FB had inadvertently allowed that game to gather info on
other users, such as their names and locations, and that the app
underpinning the game had been removed about a year ago. Whew! :)

The games and quizzes are all collecting data and luring you with ads
and click bait.


There's a setting in Facebook that allows you to block those games and
other "bait" type posts that show up on your timeline. I blocked most
of them years ago starting with that silly "Farming" thing.

I use Facebook mainly to read and post humorous pictures or subjects.
I don't think any third party snoops would be very interested in them.

I also used to get ads for things that I had searched for on Amazon. I
found a setting both in my Amazon account and in my Facebook account
that prohibits that "connection". That ended that.

I also use an ad-blocker that works well. I don't see many.

Ditto. But I did download the info they had stored. Got a zip file with several folders. Couldn't
believe the amount of stuff on it.

If I thought that was all they had, I would not be that concerned but
Mr Ed/Deuce's download was not that big and did not have that much in
it.

I used to do the quizzes until I figured out they are all so easy it
is clear they are just trying to make people feel good and take more
quizzes they will ace. I keep my screen size set to 800/600 to the
panel of ads and click bait that goes down the right side is out of
view anyway. When I looked at the "apps" that was pretty much all I
had. I never "shared" the result so that cuts down on some of the
links they put together.
I do more just scanning of the time line looking at pictures of the
family than anything else.

Current articles say that "Every account holder is being sent one of
two notices informing them whether their data was breached."

I'd say that this is in reality future tense, not present or past.

Yeah, I didn't see anything I was worried about. I did cut out a bunch of the apps. Don't think I

I've seen nothing like that yet.
