That time of the week again
Another nor'easter for tomorrow, the day after spring sprung. 8"-12" of heavy, wet crap predicted this time with 40-50 mph winds. This will be the fourth storm in as many weeks. Damn! Funny this morning at the VA. Every year they do a simple psychiatric evaluation on you by asking a bunch of questions about how you are feeling about stuff in general. At one point she asked me if in the past two or three weeks I had any feeling of depression and hopelessness. "Very much so", I said (which caused her to look up from the pad she was writing my answers done). "Four nor'ester's in a month should get anyone depressed with a feeling of hopelessness." |
That time of the week again
I'm just watching a local news/entertainment show. A local well known florist, just back from some kind of exhibition in Phliiy and on his way to Edmonton to judge a flower show, is sitting outside in a hot tub on the stations deck. It's 3 C here with beautiful blue sky's.
Yes, we except anoth weather from you but we'll get the usual combination of snow and then rain. |

I saw that. There is supposed to be 5" of snow in DC too. It may not make it down to Southern Md but they will still have my favorite, sleet and freezing rain ;-( The rule in DC is you can expect snow right up until Easter, then you are done. There may have been some exceptions but I don't remember any. This was an adage from long before I was born. My grandparents said it. |

I am in SoCal and they are forecasting the wettest storm of the year. Up to 5”of rain in some areas. I stayed down to go to the Fred Hall sports show in San Diego area on Thursday. Wife flew home this morning. Damn Southwest cancelled her 11:20flight and sent an email at 8:42. No text or call. Just happened to turn on wife’s iPad to get mail for her at 8:44. One flight available at 10:25am. Luckily traffic was easy and LAX was only 25 minutes away. |

We have unstable hillsides near me, but were not built on, as prone to slumps. Most of the evacuation areas are the last big burn area. We have friends near Santa Barbara that had the fire near them, and the first rains caused mud slides that blocked access. So they rented another house for a year. Helps to have money. My house is on a hill, but mostly rock. And not a steep hill. My kids both live on flatland near the beach. |
