Mr. Luddite[_4_] January 10th 18 02:31 PM

Open meeting

Got a kick out of Trump's televised meeting yesterday with
representatives of both parties attending. Sorta forced the Dems to
participate instead of giving mini "resist" speeches to the media in the
hallways of congress.

Maybe this guy is a genius after all.

I see it’s getting praise from the agricultural crowd.

Wasn't that the meeting in which Trump agreed to everything proposed,
even ideas in opposition to each other, and then said he'd sign anything
presented to him. What a leader...well, at least he didn't spill
porridge down his shirt.

He seems to be playing a better chess game as opposed to the
opposition who are afraid to make a move.

Senator Feinstein pulled the Trumpers up by the short hairs yesterday.

What did she do. Claim the Trump family sexually abused her?

Desperation. It's time for her to retire. At 84, 26 years in Congress
is enough.

She seems a lot sharper than your boy Trump...from ABC:

President Donald Trump on Wednesday accused Democratic Sen. Dianne
Feinstein of being "underhanded and a disgrace" for disclosing details
of a dossier of allegations about his ties to Russia during the
campaign. He also again lashed out at the investigations of Russian
meddling in the 2016 election, urging Republicans to take control of the
inquiries and repeating his claim that they are on a "witch hunt."

A day earlier, Feinstein, who faces a primary challenge in her
re-election this year, released the transcript of the Senate Judiciary
Committee's closed-door August interview with an official from the
political opposition research firm Fusion GPS, which commissioned the
dossier. She released the transcript of Glenn Simpson's interview over
the objections of the committee's Republican chairman, Iowa Sen. Chuck
Grassley. She is the top Democrat on the panel.

"The fact that Sneaky Dianne Feinstein, who has on numerous occasions
stated that collusion between Trump/Russia has not been found, would
release testimony in such an underhanded and possibly illegal way,
totally without authorization, is a disgrace," Trump tweeted. "Must have
tough Primary!"

In a second tweet, he repeated his claim that the investigations are the
"single greatest Witch Hunt" in the country's history.

"There was no collusion, everybody including the Dems knows there was no
collusion, & yet on and on it goes," he wrote in a separate Tweet.
"Russia & the world is laughing at the stupidity they are witnessing.
Republicans should finally take control!"

Feinstein's release was not illegal because the information wasn't
classified. And as the top Democrat on the committee, she didn't need
authorization from Grassley to release it. Her staff helped conduct the
interview with Simpson.

Loved the part where your moron president urged the GOP to take control
of these inquiries. He apparently is so ignorant, he is unaware the GOP
controls the congressional inquiries, and both Mueller and Rosenstein
are Republicans, and that Feinstein's release of the transcript was
legal. Trump is so stupid, he doesn't know that real witch hunts that
resulted in the murder of several dozen people took place here, or that
drunken U.S Senator Joseph McCarthy conducted political witch hunts in
the middle of the last century.

I hear the Md governor is calling for term limits for all state
offices. Mike Miller would have to go back to his DUI practice I
suppose.

For a Republican, Hogan has been pretty moderate and for the most part
not as insane as the rest of the GOPers, but I wouldn't bet on him
getting term limits passed. I think his chances for re-election are
pretty good. I don't follow Maryland state politics, so I have no idea
who might run against him.
