bucks worth at a time.

My dad was in the Air Force. Back in the 50's there were several times when the enlisted were paid
in $2 bills. The purpose was to show the local economies how much the military was contributing. It
worked too. Eveywhere you looked were $2 bills.

They tried that not too long ago at Pax River Naval Command to get
those folks down near Harry to like the navy a little more.

Those are real popular somewhere we went in California (Santa Cruz,
maybe?) because that is all a parking meter will take.
