I know, I know...darn it. Would have liked to see the impact. According
to our resident tax cheat
I'll be poor. Oh well.

Unless you have a *lot* of deductions you'll probably come out ahead
by a little.

Well, I do live in a high property and income tax state.

So do I. But I am limited on the property tax deduction because of prop
13 and owning the house for almost 40 years.

I wish! Ours are over $7200 this year, and this ain't no mansion!

$1,760.21 here

Very confusing. You want to leave Florida? Your wife still lives in
Maryland? What is the status of the redoubtable Judy? :)

My house is about half that with over two and a half times the property tax. Unreal.

Taxes are weird here. They say my house appraises at $230k, the
taxible amount is $193k, "SoH" (prop 13 thing) reduces that more, then
I get $25k off for homestead and the bill ends up being the $1700 I
pay.
I have never actually been able to get the math to work out to the
number they get.
