Cleaning up after Irma

I had one big oak limb snap off, and the top break out of a small tree. It more than filled up the back of my 1/2 ton yard truck, and since I'm off work today, I took it to the yard trash compactor at the trash/recycling station. When it was my turn, I pulled up and started to unload. After a couple of pieces, a lady appeared and started helping me. I told her I appreciated it, but she didn't have to do that. She just smiled and said neighbors helping neighbors. We finished with mine, so I pulled up a bit and she pulled her truck up, filled with limbs as well. We went to work on hers, and a really old guy started walking over with bags of debris. I helped him with a couple, and then a middle aged black guy helped him with his last two and started helping us. The three of us finished up, thanked each other, and left.

That's the South I live in. It's really different than some would have you believe.

1. a lady appeared... white lady?
2. really old guy... white guy?
3. middle-aged black guy not a white guy?

Why didn't you ID the first two "helpers" by race?

The two guys who showed up yesterday to install the rest of our granite
were careful and did a fine job. What color were they? It doesn't matter.

The guy who is scheduled to come by tomorrow to do the plumbing for the
faucets on the two sinks and install the disposal is also a meticulous
worker. What color is he? Who cares.

That's the street I live on...no one gives a flying **** about skin
color, gender, religion, et cetera.

Lady and old guy... white. The story was just to show you how wrong you are about the South. You know, when you spew your "racist South Carolina" and "I'm scared to stop and get gas there" BS.

I've spent time in Maryland. There the white lady and black guy would have been screaming "Hurry the f#ck up!"

He's a tedious old fool. But he does have the best, most meticulous workmen to perform the work around his house. :)

Hold on a sec there, Justine.
Y'all don't mind reading Johnny Child's baking recipes...his constant blathering about camping, motorbikes and hillbilly music.
In fact, we've never heard y'all say a single word about boating.
Y'all have a nerve complaining about someone else's posts.

In my opinion Harry is an asshole. I treat assholes like assholes.
He's getting what he deserves. Get it?

If that had been Maryland, you'd have gotten dirty looks for taking so long to unload your truck -
all by yourself.

Did someone complain about your post?

Does your misuse(s) of 'y'all' make you feel like one of the guys?
