I've just started watching this series on DTour cable channel.
Quite surprising...boats are darn expensive down there too!

Just viewed the episode from near Annapolis MD.

If you're talking this episode:

"Big Boat on the Bay

Rob and Kim live in Annapolis, Maryland, and are searching for a luxury boat fit for their overnight
trips across the Chesapeake Bay. They enjoy the rich maritime history of the area while looking at
upscale boats with amazing cabins."

Keep in mind that the bay is only about six miles wide at that point. I suppose, if they're going
all the way to the other side of Kent Island they could turn it into a 15 mile trip, something my
wife and I would do in a 15' Boston Whaler!

It is all about the business they conduct on that 15 mile trip. My
Tampa golf buddy used to captain a big Bertram out there and he said
his boss frequently turned a 2 hour boat ride into a multimillion
dollar deal. The passenger list was a Who's who of government
apparatchiks and lobbyists along with big time DC money men.
There is something about calm water, 54 feet of fiberglass and a cute
little girl bringing you drinks that adds gravitas to your pitch.

See, you guys keep adding to the things they want to do! I read, "...overnight trips across the
Chesapeake..."

Didn't say nothing 'bout 'business trips'.
