OK we are talking about a flight crew, a couple of gate agents and the airport police. Which one is not a union job at ORD? |

Harry Is that why you live and love politics so much? I neither live nor love politics so much. BTW, one of our too many community churches had one of those huge vinyl signs or billboards up on its building, proclaiming: "Easter is the answer to all your questions." I thought about that for the 30 seconds I was waiting for the traffic light to change, and concluded that people who believe that sort of nonsense are nucking futs. Another local church, which is paid by the state to let its large rear parking lot be used by those taking the commuter bus downtown has a sign you drive under that proclaims "We've been waiting for you." Religion seems to be getting...creepier. Those pesky churches offend Harry. Occasionally there is a "for donation" meal at the local Greek orthodox church that he can attend. I'm sure he takes full advantage of it. Otherwise he'd have no use for them. |

I drive by another church twice a day most days, and its signboard urges people to pray for peace, donate food and used clothing to the needy, and volunteer to help those who need it. We've put clothing into its collection shed at least a half dozen times. What a great way to dispose of your **** eh, Krause? Out of sight and out of mind, and it gives you a clear conscience that your worn out **** will be distributed to someone who wouldn't want it either. |

He conceded that food service and cleaning people may not be union however they had absolutely nothing to do with the incident or the discussion. Actually Harry was right and I was wrong. I was very surprised to find out a "good democrat" like Rahm was able to fire the union workers and bring in folks for an average of about $4-5 an hour less. As I said, when they are responsible for paying the bills, even democrats think union wages can be excessive. I suppose the next question would be how many of those cleaners and food service people at O'Hare have valid green cards. It is like those Hollywood and New York millionaires who get caught with illegals working in their homes because they won't pay an American wage. |

Yabut, food service and cleaners had nothing to do with the conversation. I understood your union comment to be with regard to United employees, airport cops and Chicago cops ... the people involved in the incident. This is Rec.Boats. You need to be able to defend your posts in the most convoluted context possible ;-) Nothing stays on topic very long, especially when Harry is losing. |
