1979 Morgan 46 for sale on EBAY

Some of you may remember Skip Gundlach and his sail boat the Flying
Pig. This is a sistership for sale on EBAY with no reserve price. It
looks like a bit of a project boat but aren't they all. It will
probably go for a very reasonable price.

Currently at City Marina in Charleston, SC.

I think so but I haven't seen it recently. Skip and Lydia are active
on a number of different cruising groups however. If you do a Google
search on something like "flying pig skip and lydia" you'll get a lot
of hits. I've met them a number of times, nice folks. Most recently
we ran into them in the Abacos a couple of years ago and had them
aboard for dinner.

No survey allowed?
My buddy in the BVI says there are lots of boats available there at a good price.
Maybe I should sell mine and buy a sailboat down there to use as a cottage in the winter months.
Not only does my buddy have his 'Six Pack' skippers license but he also has a surveyors license which could come in handy if I was looking for a boat in that part of the Caribbean.

Like a lot of EBAY boats it is being sold "as is, where is". They are
giving you the right to refuse the sale after the auction closes and
you inspect the boat.

What you will get with a large boat of that vintage is an never-ending
list of serious, expensive repairs that need to be made.

Is that how it is with the boat you don't own?

Imaginary boats require only imaginary repairs. Same is true of Ducatis.

That is pretty much true of boats in general if you do not do the
maintenance yourself. Older boats just have more stuff that will not
have a warranty and may have been ignored too long, perhaps years too
long. In that regard, I don't think I want an old boat from the
Caribbean. That is where old boats go to die.

You can't afford a real computer. Keep dreaming!
