What? No bid on the custom lobsta' boat?

That was when Harry admitted being "Zimmerman like" ;-)

I was thinking of buying a junked up aluminum pontoon boat to tow behind
a motorized house trailer/camper but I think our little homeowners
association would frown on parking it here.

They didn't seem to mind your Maryland Red Barn!

That's because he parked it 1/2 mile away in someone else'syard.

I know, I saw it, and I took a picture of it. Beautiful old barn. But, it's not on Harry's land.

Oh well, another lie.

So the feds the state and the county is not enough government for you?
You had to buy into an HOA that tells you what you can park on your
own property. I got the impression you were fairly rural with some
space between your homes. Do you have gates too?

I was being sarcastic. Our HOA collects a bit of dues to pay for
maintaining the front entrance, mowing of common areas, and an annual
July 4th party, and to share the names of good contractors.

Is this a deed restricted community?

You have to pay to share the names of good contractors? You yankees are a weird bunch. Down here we do it because we care about each other, and don't feel that we should get something because we give.

The Association's volunteers maintain an email list. Our dues are
practically non-existent...plants for the entrance, the entrance light
bill, mowing, the party...we get a spreadsheet that tells us what the
dollars were spent for. There is some sort of state law that requires an
actual accountant review the books, but we get that for free because one
of the residents is a CPA and she takes care of it. I think we have
about $10,000 in a reserve fund. I don't pay much attention to the
Association...it's not intrusive.

Is it a mandatory participation, deed restricted HOA or just a
voluntary non profit?

Does the HOA know you claim ownership of the Maryland Red Barn?

I don't know...as I said, "I don't pay much attention to the

and get the same answer.
