Yup. If you have ever gone down, cracking the whip on a ski rope, you know the feeling. You bounce once or twice, then you break the surface tension and go down, just like a rock. Yup, that's a funky feeling, at least until you pop back up. Even at my slightly advanced middle-age, I still love getting on a smoothy patch of water and being thrown out at high speed on a tube. You zip across the smooth water and if you're careful, it's a rush. One misstep and you are skipping across the water and then boom, you're underwater. |

That helped. But still felt like I got beat up. |

That helped. But still felt like I got beat up. I learned how to ski in the Chesapeake Bay. The whole objective is to NEVER actually get in the water and falling is the worst case scenario. If you land in a clump of sea nettles and you are one hurtin puppy. Ski out off the dock and try to land in the boat or ski up on the beach. |

That caused me two cracked ribs on a lake in Washington. Then, while climbing into the boat, one with a big V-8 and big chrome mufflers, I grabbed a muffler to keep from falling back into the water. Not a happy skier! |
