Yes the 'long' is almost non existent. Shorts are higher. But if that's all your gun will take its worth havens. I bought 200 rds of short for $19.00 4 years ago and was glad I could get them

I just learned that long and long rifle are not the same. Guess it's

The only marking I have found is "Victor". It looks a lot like the H&R
Victor but the cylinder pin is flush with the frame. That may have
been sawed off for some reason.

10-15 years I had it. It was stuck in there pretty good. I always
picked the empties out with my fingernail.
The reality was, I did not shoot it much anyway. That is the gun the
DC cops had over a weekend tho and they gave it back to me on Monday.
(I had it in my car) It was certainly a different time.

The only way I ever shot it was SA because the cylinder lock up sucked
in DA. It shaved big chunks off the bullet. For the last 35 years it
is just a curiosity.

Understood about the curio. I have a 74/81 German Mauser rifle chambered in black powder 11mm. Pre ww1. it took a big honker of a cartridge. Ballistics comparable to a 45/70 govt.
Shells are super rare and not worth the $20.00 ea. asking price.
People say "why don't you shoot it?" My reply is "why don't I hang it over my fire place and say Davy Crockett used it at the Alamo?" "I've got too much good stuff to not mess with it..."

I have thought of getting a flintlock rifle, and would really like a double
barrel flintlock pistol to hang over the family room back bar. Not yet
ready to pony up a couple thousand for artwork.

As a lark, I was bidding on a pretty interesting old but new
revolver...lost that one, but now I'm bidding on another, a Korth Combat
in .357 Magnum. Dunno what I would do with it if I won...hang it over
the microwave? :)

I've thought about getting one for my fireplace also. I'd really like to have one in the RV, which
has a 'southwestern' motif. But, there's no good place to hang the damn thing.
