Peggy Noonan gets it right on the money with Hillary and Ted Cruz.

---
Mr. Cruz is getting no backup from other Republicans on Mr. Trump’s
birther argument because “almost no one” who works with Mr. Cruz
“likes him.” And as for Hillary Clinton, the problem “is that so many
people do not find her to be a person of reliable integrity.”

Apparently the specific meaning of "natural born" has never been
interpreted or defined in the Supreme Court as it relates to eligibility
to be POTUS or VP however there have been
related cases in which "natural born" was defined by the court.

In each case, the interpretation defined a "natural born" citizen as
being a person born *in* the USA of parents who were citizens. The
definition dates back centuries ago to "The Law of Nations", written by
Emmerich de Vattel, a Swiss-German philosopher of law and adopted by
France, Great Britain and the founding fathers of the USA.

Under this definition, Cruz *and* Rubio are not eligible. Cruz was born
in Canada. Rubio was born in the USA in 1971 but his Cuban parents did
not become US citizens until 1975. Trump, although having a mother born
in Scotland *is* because he was born in the USA and his parents were
citizens.

Now, we have to go check Hillary's family history. :-)

Noonan thinks Hillary has an integrity problem? Hmmm. Where does that
leave Trump, Christie, Rubio, Cruz, Huckabee, et cetera?

So, Rubio is an...anchor baby?

===

The general public thinks that Hillary has an integrity problem. You
missed the point of the article.

Hillary has more baggage than all of them put together and the last
paragraph of the article sums it up. Do we really want another white
house surrounded by perpetual scandal?

So, Rubio is an...anchor baby?

Seems so, except that JFK left us with the policy that any Cuban with
dry feet can stay here.
I would not be surprised to see this all in the SCOTUS before they
recess for the summer. By the 4th of July, I imagine we will know who
a natural born citizen is.
We really do not want this to drag on into December like Bush v Gore

I think I mentioned I saw an article or two that claimed the mama of Ted
Cruz was enrolled as a registered voter in Canada. Article did not claim
she voted there.

I think it would be pretty funny if Cruz or Rubio were eliminated for
fairly arcane legal reasons. Can't wait to see the wonderful really
negative ads about Donald Trump.

I think it should be settled sooner rather than later because we have
no shortage of immigrants and children of immigrants seeking political
office.
