On Boxing Day I was warming up my favorite chair while working off turkey when I saw a somewhat familiar man walked up the sidewalk and turn into my walkway. Recognized him as our old skipper, who I used to crew with on first a Viking 28 and then a Mirage 33. I haven't seen him for years.
He popped in to tell me that he was buying a 39' Irwin and was wondering if I was interested in sailing this year. The boat is on it's cradle in Saint John New Brunswick so that means probably a three day or more sail to bring it to Halifax and then the cradle will have to be trucked up...or I suppose trailered if he can rent a good sized flat bed type from U Haul. So...looks like I may be sailing in style this summer. |
