I didn't do anything like that, but I did stab my thumb below the
joint with an oyster knife around Christmas. The cut was seemed minor
but the joint is still sore and a little numb.
Good luck with that.

If I'm working, I'm bleeding. Seems like I can't do anything without hurting myself. Hope you heal quickly.

3" hole saw. The pilot broke and it went for a ride.

I am not sure I would want to trade you. This is just a flesh wound,
no joints involved.

Damn, that's a difficult one to defend against. What would you do
differently next time? Did you have both hands on the drill motor?

You just said it. Keep both hands on the drill motor.

Should be more careful. Harder to heal at our advanced years.
Unfortunately will do dumb stuff. I used the power planer to grind on the
pointer finger about 6 months ago. Instead of putting the little piece in
the vise, held it in my hand. Piece went flying, and drug finger in to the
portable planer.

Small pieces are a big problem. I've had some near misses using a
router table, even when using push sticks and a fence.

I like to use my drill press for that sort of thing, otherwise a beefy
1/2 inch drill motor with a side grip. You can still get hurt if the
the cutting edge locks up and spins the drill motor out of your hands
but at least it's not a nasty cut.

Isn't that the truth. I read somewhere that we bleed much easier because our skin
looses oil and little things tend to stick and tear rather than slide off. Pruning
azaleas without gloves causes significant blood loss.

I think he should see a doctor. At least for a tetanus shot. Mercer
would love to find an entry point like that.

I keep my tetanus up. I always have some kind of ding somewhere.
I clean with Chlorhexadine and dress it twice a day or more so I am
not really worried too much about it.
