Haven't decided yet, whether or not to brave the cold and do outside work today. ;-) It was down in the 60s here last night. A few more nights like that and the pool will be too cold to get in, at least for us. I know those folks up north are OK with the water being in the 70s but we like it in the 80s. Pfffft.if the ocean water hits the high 60's we're happy as clams. Come on down in January or February. My pool will be warm to you ;-) Seriously, if you are around Ft Myers, look us up. I don't bite. |

But part of that is the upwelling that feeds the Eco system. Some places here are a mile deep 1.5 miles offshore. I know. We were in sunny Santa Cruz and also on the Oregon coast. http://gfretwell.com/ftp/california/...nta%20Cruz.jpg |

What I'd be more interested in would be exploring your little waterways on the pontoon...as long as I don't get bitten by a gator. |

Except for infrequent rain storms, is sunny at the coast. And when we get large storms way out at sea, is great to take a day over to the coast to watch huge breakers. When we get the 20-25' swells. |

We were in sunny Santa Cruz and also on the Oregon coast. http://gfretwell.com/ftp/california/...nta%20Cruz.jpg The first time I flew out to California, in the 1960s sometime, we ended up at Malibu, and I wanted to go for a swim. It was summer, it was warm out and I was wearing Bermuda shorts. So I took off my sneakers, socks, and tee shirt and ran into the ocean. Holy ****, it was cold! Came right out. July or August, I think. Now, if memory serves, Long Island Sound was only in the very low 70s when I swam in it. I don't know what the temp was in Malibu, but it was not tolerable. Bummer. :( ..this year the seas off SoCal were up to 77f. Warmest I ever remember. Most of the time summer is 66-72f water. Why I own several different wetsuits. Mostly use the shots spring suit in Sept when we go to San Diego. |
