The Donnie He needs a bucket for both wash down and for peeing in. I carry an old antifreeze jug which I cut out an section. Leaves a nice handle. Then you can dip water and wash off the window with lots of water before using a sponge or rag to clean it up. And when you have to pee. You do not have to hang with t over the side and possible fall in and drown. Lots of drown fisherman are found with the zipper down. |

(270 PPM) If I didn't have the new YSI probes, it would have been below the level of measurement. with a hydrometer we used to use. |

Well I already have one 12 gallon Moeler tank from when I had my pontoon to go in the boat, and in thinking on another.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004AP...QH5MY4H VH037 With the dual batteries, and full tanks that's a lot of weight to the aft, so I'm thinking on placing the batteries up front. Longer cables but whatever. Should I tie the tanks together and draw from both at the same time for even weight distribution or use them separately? |

There are great deals on long battery cables on eBay. I would say draw from both but make sure they are both empty, or treated with Stabil, at the end of the season or you will have bad gas in two tanks. Will you be able to easily see how much fuel you have? |

I'd like to run both tied together but no girl guage and can't see through the tanks, so no reserve. However I also have a standard 6 gal I can tuck in as a spare for 'reserve' I guess. |

Well, these things are thirsty and get maybe 3-4 mpg. If the Wabash river is up you can go a hundred river miles and rarely see any kind of a fuel dock. And even so, to find good quality non alcohol fuel can be a problem. so... |

Big news around here was the surprise announcement (2 days ago) that the only operating nuke power plant in Massachusetts is to be shut down by 2019. In reality, it will more likely be shut down in 2017, before the next refueling requirement. It was issued a new, 20 year operating license in 2014, so it's shut down came as a surprise to employees and surrounding town's officials. Cheap natural gas was cited as one of the many reasons for it's closure although Massachusetts has to import all of it's natural gas via pipelines from Canada. Known as the "Pilgram" Power plant, it has been in operation since 1972. My neighbor is an engineer at the plant and has been there since the early 1980's. I was talking to him yesterday about the closing and learned the reasons are far more complex than just cheap natural gas. |

If I were to stay in an open canal I'm sure I'd be burning at least 30 GPH. It's a fun boat but hardly fuel efficient. |
