Whoa!
Just had a heavy duty thunderstorm cell blow through directly over my location in MA (just north of Plymouth). The weather people went from tornado watch to tornado warning due to circulation noted in the radar image along with the classic "hook" and were advising to take shelter immediately. Heavy downpours and strong winds but fortunately no tornadoes. |
Whoa!

They can generate some extremely powerful winds with almost no warning and every once in a while will spawn a tornado. |

Most rain we have had in a very long time. Here it is in the 90's during the day, but cools to 50-60 at night. |

It's very unusual and a little unnerving when the TV stations break programming and make announcements to take shelter immediately. Apparently the weather people were watching a "hook" that typically indicates a tornado. What caught my attention is that it appeared to be directly over our location. |
