nothing to show for it except a stolen lure and badly bitten up mono
leader. Must have been something with sharp teeth. Conventional
wisdom is that Mahi mahi will not bite on wire leaders so not much
choice unless you're after the really big stuff.

We've been in relatively shallow water ever since and conditions
offshore have been fairly rough.
Gnawing on a leader in such fashion is an indicator of Shark or Barracuda?

side of the Bahamas however. I have no personal experience catching
Wahoo but it's my understanding that you have to troll for them at
about 15 kts, too fast for us. We'd hear the big sportfishing boats
talking about them on the radio when we were way down in the out
islands. It sounded like they were losing as many as they caught.

We catch them at under 10 kts all the time. Keep it closer to 5 and you
can get Mahi and Wahoo from the same bait.
Want to see what a Wahoo, at least a West Coast Wahoo does to lures? They
are very toothy.

WiFi system that we could connect to. Cell service itself has

The activity level in here just reinforces my observations a day or so ago. Most of the regulars have little interest in boats or boating. When was the last time you saw any boating content from John Herring, FlaJim, Dan Kruger, Scott Ingersoll...and we won't even mention the newsgroup pervert from St Thomas, Ontario. Most are here to instigate, agitate and irritate. Tim and I are somewhat similar with long off seasons and a short boating season.
Seems like we only got rid of winter so I'm just now getting the urge to take the winter shelter down and prepare my boat for it's first launch this year.

Yes, the Rattle Jet is probably a little smaller but very similar.

We'll be heading back throught the Keys in a few days. If you see a
