....why do I have no use for religion? Here's a reason:

A Public Policy Polling (PPP) national survey conducted between February
20th and February 22nd of Republican voters, found that an astonishing
57 percent of Republicans want to dismantle the Constitution, and
establish Christianity as the official national religion. Only 30
percent oppose making Christianity the national religion.

Although the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment clearly states
that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
religion,” GOP voters want to cast aside that provision and impose
Christianity as the official American religion.

While a number of red states have passed statutes forbidding the
implementation of Islam-based sharia law in their states, Republicans
apparently have no misgivings about turning the United States into a
Christian theocracy. The poll’s crosstabs reveal that support for making
Christianity the official religion is strongest among Mike Huckabee (94
percent), Rick Perry (83 percent), and Ben Carson (78 percent) supporters.

Ben Carson is the preferred presidential candidate of those who want to
impose Christianity on the nation with 24 percent support. Mike Huckabee
and Scott Walker are tied for 2nd place at 16 percent. Scott Walker (35
percent) and Jeb Bush (22 percent) are the leading candidates among GOP
voters who do not want to establish a national religion.

The PPP survey also found that 2/3rds of Republican voters do not
believe in global warming, and 49 percent do not believe in the theory
of evolution. Not only do they wish to establish a national religion,
but it appears that their version of Christianity is one that is at odds
with the scientific consensus in climatology and biology.

The problem arises when "the religious" try to force their beliefs and
superstitions on people who believe differently. And they are trying.

Who here is doing so?

And, if you have no use, why make the posts?

You're a funny guy, Herring, and by that I don't mean you are humorous.

You and most of your right-wing friends here seem annoyed when the
hypocrisy of organized religion is pointed out, especially if the
hypocrisy is about Christianity. Yet none of you seem to follow the
teachings of Jesus when it comes to your *vile* treatment of some people
here, or even people you've never met who are members of a different
religious group, a non-white race, or an ethnicity you don't share.

You don't behave as if you are followers of Jesus, so why are you
offended/annoyed when the foibles of religion are discussed? Hell, most
of you know next to nothing about Christianity and its early years.

My guess is that you act as you do in religious posts/discussions
because you don't like your obvious hypocrisy pointed out.

Oh, and in response to your question, "Who here is doing so?" - I've not
claimed that anyone was.

Again, "The problem arises when "the religious" try to force their
beliefs and superstitions on people who believe differently. And they
are trying."

That's the issue.

1. I never claimed anyone here was.
2. Because religious hypocrisy interests me.

I'm not interested in your lousy golf game, your inability to learn how
to play the guitar, your attendance at bluegrass outings, your travel
trailer, your rusty old motorcycle, your grandchildren, et cetera.

Got it?

Hey Harry, did you notice that the responses to your diatribes are getting less and less?

No one is really careing for what you think. That is, except for those you have blocked, and I think they're having a lot of fun at your expense. But whats new?

BTW Wayne is headed for the south sea islands and Greg is on his way to New Zealand.

One thing is, you're blocked posters are having fun talking about "bluegrass outings, travel trailers, your rusty old motorcycle, and grandchildren..."

So I guess it's up to you and Richard, now. And he's not posting too frequent anymore.

Good luck!

Hey, Tim, have you noticed that rec.boats is just this side of being
deader than a doorknob?

I know Greg is heading to New Zealand. I'd love to take that trip, but I
don't think I would be able to tolerate that long an airline flight. I
did fly to Australia in the 1960s, and I thought that flight, even with
two stops, would never end. My limit these days is West Coast to Hawaii.

As for W'hine, I don't give a flying **** what he does or where he goes.
