I don't know either but he must have been well provided for if he could be out in the drink for 60 days and look as healthy as he does/is..

Apparently he learned how to catch fish and collect rain water. He
was capsized several times, dismasted, and broke his shoulder. The
interior of the boat was intact so he was able to avoid sunburn, or so
the story goes.
