Pretty much. The winterization worked. Nothing froze up that shouldn't have. No leaks
when the water was connected. All systems were go.

But, when I first got the rig home and turned on the gas, nothing would work.
Thinking maybe the tanks needed filling, I took them in to get filled. They were all
full. Thinking I might have a real problem somewhere, I called the service dept. He
told me to open the valves and give it a few minutes before trying anything. I did.
Went out about fifteen minutes later, tried the stove and it lit right up. So, no
problem.

My heat pump started making a rhythmic knocking noise, which had me thinking in terms
of $$$ to get fixed. But when I went up on the roof and looked, I could see something
that had come loose and was tapping against the frame of the unit. Wired tied it, and
the noise went away.

That probably saved me enough to buy a new Kimber 9mm!

I'm past the warranty period on most stuff, including the A/C, which is where the
heat pump is. So it's either fix it myself or bend over and prepare to get raped by a
dealer. I've heard of a local place that has a decent reputation, so if I need some
work I'll give them a shot.

Good. I know there are different warranties on different items but chances are the 'local guy' used to work at a dealership and broke out in his own. you might have better luck, work, and pricing with him in the long run that is, if need be...

"wired tied" loose parts??? Good Lord, what's next...duct tape??

Tim March 30th 15 07:46 PM

Hey John...

Oh yeah, Don. Anything to make emergency repairs. I have wire ties, duct tape and vice grips in my car and boats.

one time while traveling to Tennessee somebody didn't correctly tighten the muffler clamps on my new exhaust system and the muffler literally came off my buick Waggon at 11pm on the 4 lane. I had no way for a roadside fix, but I was able to take a coat hanger and the vise grips and wire the exhaust back up to the body so it wouldn't be dragging.

I put the muffler and tail pipe in the back and we rumbled our way into town for a motel.
Next day I saw a Midas a couple blocks away and they put things on order. The shop guy thought that was a great idea and said he was going to put vise grips in his car that day . Hey you gotta do what you gotta do when you gotta do it.
If I was in a jam that John was I'd probably do the same thing.

Btw, sometime I'll tell how my dad 'fixed' a ruptured fuel line on a 1963 Plymouth with duct tape. It was good enough to make it home...

Perhaps it was a typo of the acronym 'STFU', which means 'Shut the **** up'.

For example, someone the other day posted this: "Air Canada could have used your
'flying skills' early Sunday morning when a passenger plant touched down about 1100
feet short on the main Halifax runway..."

One might ask, "What is a 'passenger plant' and did the 'plant' to which you refer
land 'on' the runway, as you state, or '1100 feet short' of the runway."

No one commented on your typos, because they were being nice. Give it a shot
sometime.

Perhaps, Colonel Klink, if you were really interested in a better tone
here and "nice," you would stop making the sort of comment you did in
this case and just let what you find offensive pass. I've gone one
better, of course, and have filtered out most of the occupants of the
Konservative Klown Kar and, as a result, don't even see their offensive
dog poop droppings in this news group. Therefore, I don't usually
comment on the stench they create and maintain.

Just a suggestion.

Once again, I am not the one whining about the behavior exhibited here.
I have no expectations you Konservative Klown Kar boys will behave
decently. I simply point out the hypocrisy. You and several others on
your side of the fence frequently complain about the tone in here,
conveniently forgetting that you guys are by far in the majority here
and are responsible for most of the insulting and name calling. Ironic,
eh? If you really want a more decent tone here (which I doubt), then the
ball is in your court. Set the example of the behavior you say you'd
like in here, and get your buddies to follow your example. See what
happens. Playing newsgroup sheriff, as you often do, when you are one of
the prime violators only makes you appear sillier than you are.
