Recently you made a big deal about Governor Rick Scott's banning of the
term "global warming" and "sea rise" in Florida's Department of
Environmental Protection.

Are you really sure about this or were you simply repeating the liberal

Scott and his administration officials have denied any of this.

Those making the accusations say it was "verbal".

I was just reading about this. Apparently some guy who is the president
of the Florida Audubon Society noticed that a Powerpoint presentation
made no reference to terms like "global warming". He asked why and was
told "we aren't allowed to use that term" and he *assumed* it came from
the "top" (meaning Rick Scott) because Scott has challenged some of the
global warming doomsayers in the past.

Sounds to me like a simple, non-official statement by some low level
tree hugger set off a firestorm of liberal reaction.

Again, verbal accusations about a supposed verbal policy statement but
no evidence that such policy was enacted or enforced. Yes, Scott is on
record of questioning whether global warming exists or if so if it is
man made. He's not alone. There are many who don't buy into man
induced global warming.

Still sounds to me like over enthusiastic tree huggers making the news.

When Scott ran his hospital corporation there were many policies that
were "unwritten." One of them was that the chief psychotherapist was not
allowed to take sick days without "48 hours notice." Yup. Why? Because
even though the hospital was charging its in-patient patients $2000 a
day, it only had one licensed therapist on duty for the entire ward, and
if that person took a sick day because he or she woke up sick on a given
day and called in sick, there was no serious therapy that day for the
$2000 a day patients.

That there is "no official policy on record" according to Scott doesn't
mean there is no policy.

Harry there is so much political mud slinging going on in this country
that I don't believe anything until it is proven and documented. It's a
shame.

The GOP side of the fence may be stubborn, behind the times and in some
cases pure nuts but there's usually no question as to where any
Republican stands on an issue.

The Democratic side, led by progressive liberals have lots of popular
support but, to me, tend to play the game using deceptive, dishonest and
sneaky tactics. If it weren't for this sense I have of them I might
even be convinced to vote for more of them. Except Hillary.
She's the prime example of a lying, deceitful, ambitious politician who
is completely unqualified to hold the trust of the American people.

**** now and then but I have not been able to find anything about it
either.
If you have $100, I will find out from my son in law who is an
attorney for South Florida water management and Cheryl Clark who is
the manager for Estero Aquatic Preserve. Certainly if there is any
official policy, written or unwritten, they would have heard of it.

You might want to hedge your bet by poking around on the SFWMD or DEP
web sites and see if the offending language is there. I bet it is.

For those who are actually interested in the reality of climate change
instead of the political hyperbole, there is a great documentary on
Netflix called "Chasing Ice". It makes a compelling case that there
is a lot of glacial ice melt occurring, and there is some evidence
presented which links it to an increase in atmospheric CO2. It's not
entirely clear that all of the CO2 increase is man made but it is
certainly a strong possibility. In any case the documentary is well
made, non-hysterical, non-political, and has some great photography.

I give it 4 1/2 stars.
