Man that's a lot of fish!

It sure is. I'd really like to catch a big fish someday but it would
be difficult from our boat, especially with just the two of us on
board. You'd really like to have an experienced person at the helm to
back the boat down and keep the fish positioned properly, along with
another two or three people to help out in the cockpit.

With enough inducement, perhaps Tim and I would fly down and be 'mates' to help you
drag it in.

Have to be honest, I wish it were a 'catch and release' operation.

Why would anyone decent want to catch a fish like that?

Big fish are fun to catch. Sad that Hawaii seems to kill the billfish.
Cabo, releases almost all billfish. They know there is more money to made
with fish in the water.

Don't tell me that lovely lady hasn't received her helmsman merit badge
over the thousands of nautical miles you've traveled. Shame on you.

Well, he did mention three in the cockpit. Want to join Tim and me?

I could do that.

The question is, 'why not release it'? Catching it would be a hell of
a thrill, if
the thing could be released without too much harm.

These guys seem to have the right attitude. Although I don't
necessarily agree with
the 'record catch' scenario.

Why catch a fish like that at all, or even try? The act of catching it
puts a terrific strain on the fish.

Wasn't too long ago that you were catching fish on circle hooks. And I
don't think you cared much about stressing fish. My how times have

I suppose the same could be said for all the rockfish you've caught, no?

You can't really put a sign on the lure saying 'Big Fish - Stay Away'.

Gave up fishing years ago for the same reasons I never hunted. I have no
problems with subsistence fishing or hunting, which I define as engaging
in those activities to put food on your table. I give commercial fishers
a pass on this, as I do those who raise beef, chickens, whatever, as
ranchers or farmers. I'm against killing animals for "sport." There's no
"sport" involved.

Remember his story of catching all the bay fish in a single day? Perch, croaker,
trout, flounder and rockfish - all in one day.

That was a story all right.

I think they should publish a book:

"FANTASY STORIES" by Clinton, Williams and Krause

Bet it'd be a best seller in no time.
