over 'The Awakening'. But, since they've moved the statue to National Harbor (where I
won't go), the point has lost it's big attraction.

It's now a physically attractive area, good walking, plantings, hills,
and vistas, with lots of high end "shoppes," and suchlike, but they
actually charge to park there, which is a big NO for suburban shopping,
and even my wife, a consummate shopper, said the stores were boring. I
believe a casino is going to be opening there, which, of course, will be
a big reason to stay away.

Shortly after the place opened, my wife and I decided to stop there for a cup of
coffee and look around. We were on the 21' Proline at the time. If you look at a
satellite map of the place, you can see if's got about a half mile of concrete pier,
not counting the marina.

Just about the time we got ready to dock, a young guy in a nice green sport coat
comes running over asking if he can help us. I told him we were just stopping for a
cup of coffee and a looksee. He replied, "Docking is $10 an hour."

So we left. Went to the Starbucks in Alexandria where docking is free. I don't think
I've ever seen any boats tied to the long pier.
