Not a good deal at all. Things are going to get worse before they get better, I'm afraid.

Next thing you know we'll be seeing videos and photos or reading reports
of police shooting, beating, tasing, stomping, and so forth, *unarmed*
citizens...and getting away with it. Oh, wait...

There's too much violence in this country on all sides. :(

Oh how cute.

Luckily, the unions will do all in their power to prevent punishment
of bad cops. The boys shooting the cops don't have such protection.
Shame, isn't it?

It's strange, I've never had a problem with LE officers, and I don't personally know anyone that has. Every encounter I've ever had with one was respectful and completely a non-issue. Of course, I was respectful of their authority, and I understand that if they want you to stop, be still, put you in handcuffs, or even take you in, it's going to happen. How it happens is up to you.

Worst encounter was a traffic stop when I was about 22 years old. I was speeding and got pulled for it. The officer and I were talking beside my car (back when they actually let you get out of the car), and I put my hands in my pockets. It was just a habit. He instructed me to take them out. I did, but a couple of minutes later I put them back in, again just a habit. He backed up, unsnapped his holster, and told me to take them out. I did, and put my hands on the hood of my car. He said I didn't have to do that, and I replied, "Yes, I do. I'll just put them back in again without thinking."

He finished writing my ticket with my hands on the hood. No beat-down. :)

You apparently still do not understand that the job of a union like the
police unions is to protect its members and make sure they receive due
process. Oh, and my comment was about *unarmed* citizens. Did you miss
that?

So, do "unarmed citizens" commit acts of violence on police? Perhaps resisting arrest? Or like punching them through their windows, while seated in their cars, then try to grab their guns?

Yes they do.

===

The only possible reason to grab at a LEOs gun it to try and shoot
him. Anything that happens after is entirely justified. Some people
don't want to understand that because it suits their political agenda.

A few tickets, a few stops (on motorcycle), two accidents, an
investigator at the house, two brothers who were cops, and never a
problem - just as you say.

Worst encounter was a traffic stop when I was about 22 years old. I was speeding and got pulled for it. Respect works both ways, I believe.

I seem to recall union officials making pronouncements about innocence
well before any due process. I also recall folks right here making
pronouncements about guilt well before due process.

To help ensure due process is one thing. To proclaim innocence or
guilt is another.

There are times when 'unarmed' citizens may need shooting, tasing, or
other measures to preclude injury/death of the officer or bystanders.

Yes they do.

So you ****ing morons think that's a capital crime? A capital crime for
anyone, or just for the stop and frisk cohort?
