An offer I couldn't refuse.

Some months ago, when the iPhone 6 and 6+ came out, I recall commenting
that I wouldn't upgrade from my 5S because I didn't see any drastic
improvements, aside from the much larger screen size on the 6+.

I did like that big, shiny screen, though.

To tempt me, Verizon offered a $350 trade on my 5S if I extended my
contract for cell services for two years and bought a new 6+ for $399.
So, I upgraded for less than $50 out of pocket. Pretty good deal, I
think. I've been fairly well pleased with Verizon's cell service
generally, though it is weak in some areas of my home county. On the
other hand, service from some of the other large providers here is
non-existent in a few areas of the county. Verizon is terrific in the
cities and immediate suburbs, though.

So, I like the 6+, but it is a *big* honking phone. I have big hands, so
it isn't a real problem, even with a protective, anti-drop-damage case
on it. I have a Thule case and a ZAGG screen protector on the device.

If you have any serious questions about the 6+, I'll give it a shot at
trying to answer them.

Just because you are opposed to abortion doesn’t make you pro-life. Your
morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a
child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed, not a child
clothed, not a child able to see the doctor. That’s not pro-life…that’s
pro-birth.

It is basically what Samsung people have had for over a year.

Oh...is that what you are using, a Samsung? Samsung makes good stuff.
The $49 "upgrade" fee was too good to pass up. :)

My wife has a Note II.
I am still using a flip phone, when I carry one at all.

I use a smart phone heavily.. I do business on it, run credit cards,
watch weather live, track other riders, and business email. I don't play
any games but I still consider myself a heavy user. I have had the same
Samsung S3 for years now and it does everything I need it to do. In fact
I just had an opportunity to go to an newer phone free, and stayed with
my S3.. Awesome tool, will do anything a smartphone user needs to do..
Mine is Verison so data is limited and I don't get 4G but I get huge
coverage advantage over my daughters Virgin Mobile S3 at tracks all over
the east coast...

You had $50 left after paying your debts including taxes? Fantastic!

Apple finally realized that some of us like a larger phone and the 6+ will fill that need for Apple. I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 a month ago and I absolutely love the phone. It is the best looking phone I have owned so far and it is lightning fast even compared to my old Samsung Galaxy SIII.
