The command sequence goes like this from the pull down menu: File Get Data At the bottom select Model: GFS, then drag and draw a box on the map for the area of interest. Then press the "Request" button. That will bring up a pop-up configuration window where you specify dates, times and model parameters. In the beginning I'd stick to something simple like Prmsl (sea level pressure), Wind, Waves and Rain. After you've checked off the boxes, click "send" and the model data will download. It sounds more complicated than it really is and once you've configured it once it remembers the settings. OK I may have figured it out. The Beta says it supports direct download but my virus scanner will not let me run it. I usually don't fool around with Betas, let some hobbyist catch the arrows. When this is in general release, I will try again. We are not going to have any weather here until next July or August anyway. ;-) === The version I'm running is 5.0.56 - It does not say Beta. The one on that site that is not marked beta is 4.3.4 === Check your EMAIL. Got it, thanks It still pops as a virus. === No problems with it here. I've been running it on several different PCs for close to a year. |
