Looks like Bermuda is going to get hammered. The island is on the worst
side of the storm for winds. Gonzo due to Gonzalo.

Glad you're not down there Wayne. Where do they predict it going beyond Bahamas?

Bermuda is well north of the Bahamas, about the same latitude as South
Carolina but about 850 miles to the east. I don't think it impacted
the Bahamas to any great extent.

Interesting, same video feed only on YouTube. It looks like they are
really getting hammered.

We hear that the hurricane will pass us about 180 kilometers to the east.
The surfers will be excited as we might get up to 3 meter waves along the coast.
Over in Newfoundland it might be touch and go for the Avalon Peninsula.

Wayne. Due to my fumble fingers and tapping on an iPhone, it looks like auto check changed islands on me...

They are pretty used to these kinds of things. Most hurricanes that
miss Florida or the Gulf states, hit them.
Fortunately that is a volcanic island with some elevation (over 200
feet at the high points) so it is not like Florida and the Keys where
most stuff is less than 20' ASL and you have to get to mouse land to
get 40'ASL

True, but because of the elevation the winds tend to be much stronger.

I hope anyone who is impacted by the storm comes through it OK.
