Greg has put up many dozens of posts on his opinion that the world would
be better off if Israel were not a Jewish state. Period.
And I still do. The people in that region just see this as another
crusade where Europeans invade and try to impose their religion on the
area. They remember that in every other case, eventually they repelled
the invasion
I understand that the Ottoman Empire and the British Empire were
capable of holding down the violence and there was a small Jewish
presence living in peace but they were not the government. This is
not a Jewish presence, it is a conquest where the muslims feel they
are excluded from the same land they have been defending from European
crusades for 900 years.
It still has nothing to do with ISIS
Gosh, what will Richard say when he sees that you *admit* to what I said
you were doing, in the many, many times you advocated pushing the
Jews in Israel into the sea?
I don't fault the Jews for wanting Israel as *their* homeland again.
Thousands of years of history in which the Christians of the world
slaughtered Jews made the Jews wary of Christian promises. Besides,
there was nothing to go back to in Europe after WW II for the Jews,
certainly not in Germany or Poland, where their former Christian
neighbors blamed them for the downfall of the Third Reich.
As for the Muslims, well, they can't even defend themselves from each
other.

You still have not explained how it was theirs.
We are not talking about people who had any actual history of living
there. We are talking about Europeans who simply chose a religion.
Normally you ridicule religion but you think simply adopting this one
gives you the right to go to a place where you never had an ancestor
and take land you never owned.
If my wife had decided to be a Jew in high school, her daughter could
claim the right of return if our rabbi confirmed she was observant and
she was the right kind of jew.
Historically, it is "theirs," and it is theirs in modern times because
they had been occupying it for generations and when the time came to
fight for it, they fought for it. And won.

You are certainly making the case for why the US should have forced
the Germans to give up property to the jews but what did the
palestinians do to them?
The Arabs were allies of the Germans in the two World Wars. And why
would the Jews want to return to (mainly) Germany and Poland, areas that
had nothing but horrific memories for them?
As for the Muslims, well, they can't even defend themselves from each
other.
Then why do we need to give Israel $3 billion a year in military aid?
It sounds like they should be able to beat this rabble by themselves.
You can't possibly be that naive, can you?
